If you are looking for a way to improve the look
and feel of your skin, Photofacial therapy may be the perfect solution.
It is a great option for those who want to reverse sun damage; eliminate
age spots, freckles, and mild scarring; treat redness, roscacea,
and hyperpigmentation; reduce large pores; or even out the skin
tone. The treatment is non-invasive, gentle, and very quick. No
recovery time is required and the results are almost instantaneous.

Photofacial treatment works by the application
of gently-pulsed, intense light (IPL) on the surface of the skin.
The heat and energy that the light creates is absorbed by abnormal
blood vessels that cause redness as well as by the pigmentation
in damaged skin cells. As it absorbs the light and energy, collagen
production is stimulated and the skin begins a natural healing process
that reduces problems like sun damage, mild scarring, and age spots
while it restores a healthy and youthful tone to your skin.

Photofacial is an ideal option for those who want
a non-invasive, gentle, and easy way to erase freckles, age spots,
redness, sun damage, and the appearance of visible capillaries and
mild scarring.
TOP
Photofacial is a non-invasive, gentle treatment
utilizing advanced light therapy technology. Unlike some laser and
facial peel treatments, which are more aggressive and may burn the
surface layer of skin, Photofacial relies on the energy and heat
of the light therapy to penetrate the surface of the skin, destroying
unwanted pigmented lesions and visible capillaries while stimulating
the body’s natural healing process thereby reversing skin
damage and discoloration from within.
There is little or no risk of serious complications
from Photofacial treatment. In very rare cases, some may experience
temporary bruising, swelling, and/or blistering. The most common
side effects experienced by our clients are temporary redness and
darkening of the pigmentation in treated areas. Patients should
limit sun and UV exposure for several weeks before and after treatments
in order to reduce their risk of complications and ensure the best
possible results.

The length of the treatment time depends on the
area that you would like to have treated. In general, treatments
will last between 45-60 minutes. Following treatment, no recovery
time is necessary and you will be able to return to your daily activity.
As a result, you can easily schedule your Photofacial treatment
during your lunch hour or between other appointments.
TOP
Clients may experience a slight stinging sensation
during treatment, however, a topical anesthetic cream is applied
30 minutes before the treatment to help reduce any discomfort.
TOP
The number of treatments required to successfully
achieve the desired result varies from client to client. Many of
our clients see a significant improvement in the look and feel of
their skin within a week of their very first Photofacial. In general,
three to five treatments are recommended to achieve the optimal
result. During your complimentary consultation, our trained Medical
Aesthetic Practitioners will recommend an appropriate treatment
plan based on the results you would like to achieve.
TOP
Following Photofacial treatment, we recommend
that our clients avoid excessive sun and UV exposure, use a gentle
cleanser, keep their skin moisturized, and use a light sun block
daily to ensure that the results are maintained. Some clients require
an occasional touch-up or reapplication to keep their skin looking
its best; however, by caring for your skin after the treatment,
you can ensure that the benefits will be long-lasting.
